Contact support
support@trystu.comWe aim to respond within 2 business days. Reports of objectionable content or abusive behavior are handled faster — see Safety & reporting.

Safety & reporting
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior — including harassment, bullying, threats, and hate speech — whether it’s posted in a submission or sent in a direct message.
Report content or a user
- In the app: open the profile, submission, or conversation and use Report.
- By email: write to support@trystu.com with the handle, the league, and a screenshot if you have one.
Block someone
Block any user from their profile. Blocking is mutual: it disables direct messages both ways, hides your profiles from each other, and removes any follow. It does not remove their submissions from shared leagues. Manage blocked accounts in Settings → Safety.
We review every report — including reported direct messages — and aim to review reports of objectionable content or abusive behavior within 24 hours. Anything involving the safety of a minor, credible threats, or imminent harm jumps the queue. STU is run by a small team, so treat that as a good-faith target rather than a guarantee — a review means a person looks at it and decides what to do, not that every report ends in removal. Enforcement is generally graduated (warning, then suspension, then a permanent ban), but we may remove content or terminate an account immediately for serious violations. See Terms of Service § 8.
Urgent concerns: if someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. For content involving the exploitation of a minor, email support@trystu.com with the subject line URGENT. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement.
Getting started
Signing up, signing in, and who can use STU.
What is STU?
STU is a social app built around making things instead of watching them. You join a league, take on a target (a creative challenge with a deadline), submit your own photo, video, or audio, and rate everyone else’s entry from 1 to 10.
How do I get in?
STU is in private beta, rolling out in waves. Join the waitlist at trystu.com and we’ll email you an invite. iPhone first, Android to follow.
I can’t sign in
You can sign in with Google, with Apple, or with a one-time code sent to your email. If the code doesn’t arrive, check your spam folder and confirm the address you entered, then request a new one — codes expire. Still stuck? Email support@trystu.com from the address you’re trying to use and we’ll sort it out.
How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 13 years old to use STU, and old enough to meet any higher minimum age where you live. STU asks you to confirm this at sign-in but doesn’t verify age or store a birth date, so the app works the same for every member — any member can send you a direct message, though a first message from someone you haven’t accepted lands silently in Requests and is capped at three messages until you accept it. The safety tools are the same for everyone too: see Safety & reporting. Parents and guardians who want an account removed can email support@trystu.com.
Using STU
Leagues, targets, rating, and what STU is not responsible for.
How does rating work?
Every entry is scored 1–10 on a slider. You see your own score and the running average as it builds, so feedback is about the work rather than a like count. You can’t rate your own submission. For pass-or-fail challenges, a league host can set a target to a simple Approve or Deny instead.
The app won’t let me post a photo or video
STU needs camera, microphone, or photo-library access to capture or choose media for a submission. Grant it in iOS Settings → STU. If a target has already closed, it will no longer accept entries.
Too many (or too few) notifications
Turn notification categories on or off in the app under Settings, or disable them entirely in your device settings. Turning notifications off does not delete your account or any of your data.
A league promised a prize and I never got it
STU does not sponsor, fund, escrow, validate, or guarantee any prize or incentive mentioned in a league. Prizes are strictly between the league creator and the participants. If a creator didn’t deliver what they offered, that’s a dispute between you and them — but please tell us at support@trystu.com. We may warn, suspend, or remove users who repeatedly fail to honor what they offer. See Terms of Service § 4.
Your account & data
Editing your profile, deleting your account, and getting your data.
How do I edit my profile?
View and edit your display name, handle, and avatar in the app under Settings.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app. That removes your profile, submissions, ratings, and follows; your media is made permanently inaccessible and purged from storage; leagues you created are transferred to another admin or deleted if you were the only member. Limited records may persist where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, and residual copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period. Details are in the Privacy Policy § 6.
If you can’t get into your account to delete it, email support@trystu.com from the address on the account and we’ll handle it for you.
Can I get a copy of my data?
Yes — email privacy@trystu.com to request a copy of your personal data, or to exercise any privacy right you have under the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or other applicable law.
How do I report a bug?
Email support@trystu.com. It helps a lot if you include your device (e.g. iPhone 15 Pro), your iOS version, your STU handle, what you were doing, and a screenshot or screen recording.
